Upcoming Releases: Games October 2022

It seems like only yesterday that we tackled the roundup of September releases, but it’s already been a month. We have already entered the autumn that we anticipated then, in some regions and for now we have already had to recover the winter pajamas and, suddenly, the warmth that the PC emits every time we push its performance to the limit is comforting again, instead of one more annoyance that adds to the heat that, in general, had us drowning until a few weeks ago.

If in summer, playing is a good way to distract yourself, have fun and try to forget about the heat a bit, autumn is an ideal time to play, as it avoids nostalgia, bittersweet memories of vacations, the inevitable analogies of the passage of time ( seasons of the year) and time (ours, the vital)… immersing yourself, for a few hours, in any playful proposal, helps us degrease autumn with nostalgia, ocher tones and other paraphernalia.

Thus, once an excuse has been raised for those who need it, we are going to take a look at the most interesting game releases that await us in this month of October, which starts as early as tomorrow. Of course, how are you going to be able to check, some of the most anticipated titles of the month will not see the light until the last days of the month.

Overwatch 2

  • Release date: October 4, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

It seems incredible, but nearly three years have passed since we first heard about Overwatch 2, the renewal of one of the most successful multiplayer shooters of recent times. Although initially it was thought that it would see the light of day as a totally segregated experience from its predecessor, shortly after it was confirmed that, in reality, both will merge, thus providing an updated and improved gaming experience for the entire community.

Coral Island

  • Release date: October 11, 2022
  • platforms: pc

Does it make sense to publish, at this point, a new farm “simulator” (I put it in quotes because I don’t mean a realistic replica, like the sensational Farming Simulator, but titles like Stardew Valley, My time at Portia, Harvest Moon, etc. ) or are we facing an over-exploited genre? In my somewhat (to say nothing) unbiased opinion, YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU! With a very attractive artistic design, on an island surrounded by coral reefs, you will have to manage your farm, contribute to the local community and, well, I don’t know about you, I have already added it to Steam wish.

PGA Tour 2K23

  • Release date: October 11, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

Something strange has happened to me, and it is that when trying to access this game’s file on Steam, the store has asked me to verify that I am of legal age. Something that, in a title starring Tiger Woods, makes me think badly… but no, false alarm. PGA Tour 2K23 is the annual renewal of the most popular golf game, immersing you like no other in the exciting world of competitive golf.

lego bricktales

  • Release date: October 12, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

LEGO video games, like the movies, have been able to define their own style, very characteristic, in which action and sense of humor are masterfully intermingled. In this new title starring the most popular building block game in history (and be careful, says someone who was a TENTE in his childhood), we will face puzzles and adventures throughout the world.

Dragon Ball: The Breakers

  • Release date: October 14, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

As expected from a game based on the Dragon Ball ecosystem, we find ourselves before a relaxing and peaceful fishing simulator, in which you can relax for hours while… nothing, it hasn’t strained, right? Obviously, we are talking about a multiplayer title (seven against one) that wastes action on all four sides. You will have to team up to face classic rivals from the saga, while trying to work as a team… or act thinking only of your benefit.

scorn

  • Release date: October 14, 2022
  • platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S

Do you like being scared? Well, in the absence of certified letters from the Tax Agency, which are the definitive experience in this sense, Scorn is, without a doubt, the most interesting proposal of this month of October, and one of the most remarkable of the whole year. Defined by its creators as “a dark universe full of strange shapes and gloomy complexity”, we find ourselves before a title that fits into the always disturbing world of biopunk, in which we will first have to try to understand what we are seeing, and then we will have to a whole life ahead to try to forget it.

A Plague Tale: Requiem

  • Release date: October 18, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch

For my taste, this is undoubtedly one of the two most notable releases of the month, and one of the most anticipated, even more so since we were able to see the preview video published in the middle of August. As in its predecessors, we find ourselves facing an emotional challenge, facing a very careful and polished argument, which will lead us, once again, to have to face the price of our decisions, even when they are taken to protect our own. .

Batora: Lost Haven

  • Release date: October 20, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

One of the most interesting releases of the year, in terms of the indie ecosystem, Batora: Lost Haven is an RPG in which the evolution of our character (and of course, of the story) will depend on our decisions. In an interplanetary adventure and in one of the worst moments of her life, Avril will have to put her superpowers at the service of saving her own world… in any way.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

  • Release date: October 20, 2022
  • platforms:Nintendo Switch

An unexpected and celebrated sequel to Kingdom Battle, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope puts us back in control of Mario and company, along with a group of Rabbids, with the predictable mission of saving the Mushroom Kingdom from another powerful and evil creature, RPG. assumed this time by the Dark Goddess. Tactical attacks on the battlefield and puzzles to advance in combat, they propose an adventure that, if you enjoyed its predecessor, will undoubtedly make you enjoy.

Gotham Knights

  • Release date: October 21, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Although talking about Gotham City without Batman may sound like a garden without flowers or a field trip without an omelette sandwich, the truth is that this Gotham Knights, which immerses us in the always dark and sinful streets of Gotham, but now with an epidemic of crime after the death of Batman, puts us in control of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin, who will have to try to make up for the absence of the dark knight and try to restore order and hope in a Gotham that looks darker, sinister and lost never.

New Tales from the Borderlands

  • Release date: October 21, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch

Few games have been able to generate so much empathy with characters so… well, I’ll let you put the adjective. With good intentions and little else, Anu, Octavio and Fran will have to face a planetary invasion, a ruthless vault monster and a cold-hearted capitalist who should start paying his debt to society. With the intention of saving the world or, at least, to make it a little better, an adventure not suitable for all audiences begins, and that will undoubtedly make you laugh more than once.

Star Ocean The Divine Force

  • Release date: October 27, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

Possibly the most interesting JRPG of the year, a member of an already long saga that has its origins in the 90s (yes, that’s how veteran it is). In this new installment you will have to take a giant sword to face Raymond Lawrence, a warrior who fights against the Pangalactic Federation. With a princess by your side and a host of deadly weaponry, you’ll write your story across a strange sci-fi world, trying to bring justice to the galaxy.

Bayonetta 3

  • Release date: October 28, 2022
  • platforms:Nintendo Switch

Bayonet or, as a friend of mine says, one of the main reasons to be a Nintendo user, finally releases its long-awaited (it was announced back in 2017) third installment. The first opinions that have been made public about it, from journalists who have already been able to try it, suggest that it maintains the essence of the previous titles, but that the efforts made by the developers to offer an improved experience are appreciated.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

  • Release date: October 28, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One

To say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most anticipated titles of the month is surely an understatement. We already know practically everything about this title and, both because of the developers behind it, as well as because of its context and all the news that will come from it, we are faced with what could be one of the most relevant deliveries in all the history of this long-standing and always successful saga.

Resident Evil Re:Verse

  • Release date: October 28, 2022
  • platforms: PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One

The long-awaited online multiplayer based on one of the most successful survival horror sagas in history has finally arrived. Deathmatches against six other players, many chemical weapons (we are in the realm of the Umbrella Corporation, what did you expect?), with the most iconic and recognizable characters in the world of Resident Evil.
