The winning startup of the third stop of Venture on the Road was V-Vision, which received the award in the edition held in Bilbao. The traveling event organized by BStartup from Banco Sabadell, SeedRocket, and Wayra, Telefónica’s open innovation initiative, to which Google for Startups joins as a collaborator.
After its first stops in Oviedo and Cartagena, the roadshow resumed in the Basque Country. In this edition, Venture on the Road maintains its objectives: to search for the best investment opportunities in each region and give startups in the early stages the opportunity to present their project to investors and generate quality networking.
At this third stop, held at the Lawesome headquarters, on Calle Cardinal Gardoquihad the experience and knowledge of the local ecosystem thanks to local partners such as Lawesome itself, which was joined by The Init Group and InnoLab Bilbao.
The four finalist startups were:
- Grabit: Proprietary machine vision software that is easily integrated into processes through a SaaS model.
- Hobeen: SaaS that helps companies and public institutions to deploy energy saving and sustainability solutions among their customers, employees and citizens.
- Urban Wind Roseo: photovoltaic and mini-wind solutions to generate own energy that can be installed in buildings and adapted to the characteristics of urban wind.
- V-Vision: digitalization of the treatment and follow-up of ophthalmological patients with virtual reality equipment.
Place in the national final
Hector García, CEO and founder of Geographica (Carto), mentor of SeedRocket and investor in startups, and in charge of offering a keynote entitled “Eat and innovate”, where he showed his own examples and experiences and those of others to try to provide a grain of sand to young entrepreneurs.
V-Vision, the Venture on the Road winning startup in Bilbao, already has a placed in the national final to be held on June 15 in Madrid. In addition, it will be part of the Google Cloud Digital Native Program with up to $10,000 in credits good for nine months and technical follow-up with Google Cloud engineers. You will also have preferential access to advanced training from Google Cloud Platform training programs.
The national winner of the VI Venture on the Road will receive an aid pack from all the partners, which includes specialized advice in finance or marketing worth 3,000 euros offered by BStartup, their participation as a guest project on the Campus of SeedRocket entrepreneurs and a space of 6-12 months in the Wayra offices, as well as access to events, training, workshops and contacts.
Venture on the Road will soon visit other Spanish cities to locate promising talent and startups at a regional level beyond Madrid and Barcelona, the two leading technology hubs in Spain. Specifically, the event has already passed through Oviedo, Cartagena and Bilbao, and soon it will also reach Malaga, Valladolid and Alicante, before the final that will take place in Madrid.
