After a long wait, we finally have the new Vmware products available. This time we have version 13 and it comes loaded with new features. But the main one and for which we are writing this article, is because the new version will finally allow Windows 11 to run not only on Macs with Intel but also those with Apple Silicon and natively. It seems that it has cost the company a lot, but hey, the important thing is that it has already reached that point of not having to depend on intermediate tools to make it work and that will make it run faster and more efficiently. That’s what Vmware Fusion 13 does.

VMware is now able to announce to the world the official release of Vmware Fusion 13. It is a major update to its virtualization software that offers native support for Apple Silicon. This marks the first version of VMware Fusion to offer Apple Silicon support in final form, and the company has previously tested the feature in beta. This update allows Mac users with Apple Silicon, which are becoming more and more, run operating systems like Windows 11 in a virtual machine. Of course, it must be taken into account that Apple users with this type of chip in their computers must run the ARM version of Windows 11.

The difference between being able to work at Intel or at Apple Silicon is evident. There are some numbers that corroborate that the ideal would be to work with Apple’s own: For example, for graphics, Vmware Fusion on Intel, Windows still enjoys DirectX 11 graphics. The new virtualization software continues to support eGPU devices. However, in with Apple Silicon, the new version can offer OpenGL 4.3 with 3D hardware acceleration very fast to ARM-based Linux virtual machines with Linux kernel 5.19 or higher.
