VMware updates Anywhere Workspace with automation and performance improvements

vmware has added several improvements and news to your Anywhere Workspace suite, including several changes to the Workspace ONE architecture and new features in VMware App Volumes. Its goal is to reduce the management time and cost of virtual desktop and application environment infrastructure, as well as enable IT teams to run more efficient and reliable digital workspaces in a hybrid work environment.

The company has announced a Workspace ONE SaaS architecture modernized, based on containers and with a focus on SaaS practices. This architecture modernization will be carried out progressively over the coming months, and thanks to it, companies will be able to scale their deployments to millions of devices, in addition to having improved performance in resource-related workloads. Specifically, in terms of resource delivery, performance can be up to 10 times higher in applications and profiles on all device platforms. In addition, the console loading time will be reduced, which will speed up the administration.

This modular architecture will allow development with more responsiveness and more reliability of the product. In addition, customers will be able to get same-day support for the latest OEM configurations and platforms. Therefore, the speed of response will increase while improving the quality of the product.

On the other hand, it will give impetus to new platform services. Among them Workspace ONE Freestyle Orchestrator and Desired State Management. In this way, customers of the service will be able to count on various automated and low-code tools to solve business problems in terms of terminal management, security and user experience.

From now on, too, Workspace ONE customers will experience the replacement of legacy automations with Freestyle Orchestrator’s unified system, allowing them to create policy-based workflows through a revamped, low-code user interface.

In addition, VMware has also announced the availability of Workspace ONE Marketplacewith integrations that allow you to connect third-party cloud applications, as well as offer pre-packaged solutions that include actions, templates, and scripts.

The company will also offer from now on Apps on Demand for published apps, a new option that helps IT departments reduce the management time and infrastructure costs of traditional implementations of such applications. With it, IT can eliminate the need for a dedicated application farm infrastructure, and replace it with a modern application delivery model that deploys applications on demand when users access them. Thus, it reduces the management overhead and infrastructure cost of traditional published application farms.

App Volumes also separates the application layer from the operating system, making it easier to manage applications and the operating system, and greatly reducing the images that IT has to create and manage. With App Volumes you can even capture legacy applications with 99% application compatibility and publish them on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid cloud deployments.
