Walter White and Jesse Pinkman will have their own statues in Albuquerque

Definitely, breaking bad It is one of the best series that we have been able to enjoy in these little more than 15 years that we have been with the serial fever and that tells us the story of a high school teacher who, literally and as the title says, spoil. And of course, as is customary in this type of projects that become known worldwide, it has had consequences for the fame of its protagonists… and that of the stage itself where it takes place.

Walter White House.

15 years of the success of Breaking Bad

Since the series ended way back in 2013 (yes, it’s been nine years already!) New Mexico City has become a premier tourist destination where fans of the series go to take photos in emblematic places such as Walter White’s house (right above you have it), the famous car wash or outside the Los Pollos Hermanos burger joint where some important deals and meetings take place in the fiction.

So it was normal that, given so much devotion to the city that is the protagonist of breaking badsomeone would like that the two protagonists of the series, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, will be immortalized for the remains with a monument that reminds you ad eternum. So said and done because it has been the producer itself that has seen fit to make a gift to the Albuquerque authorities in the form of bronze statues that will be shown to the world in the coming days.

Vince Gilligan, showrunner and head of breaking bad, Better Call Saul Y The way, who took the opportunity to say a few words: «Over the course of fifteen years, two television series and a movie, Albuquerque has been wonderful for us. I wanted to return the favor and give something back […] These massive bronze statues of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman have been made possible through the generosity of Sony Pictures Television and the talented sculptor Trevor Grove… and I love them. It makes me happy to imagine them gracing The Duke City [Albuquerque] for decades to come, attracting busloads of tourists.”

Albuquerque, tourist destination

as we say, the history of the universe is not understood breaking bad without the scenery or desert environment of Albuquerque, so it seems logical that from the production company they want to give back much of what they have received from the city. And vice versa, The Duke City also feels identified with a product that puts it on the map and generates millionaire income every year from activities related to the series.

These statues will be located inside the Albuquerque Convention Center and can be visited by everyone from July 29, 2022, moment that will be used for its inauguration in an act (massive?) in which the mayor of the city, Tim Keller, will be present, as well as a good part of the cast of the series: from the creator of the series, Vince Gilligan, to the leading actors and statuesque Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul.
