Despite the umpteenth and definitive confirmation that WandaVision 2 will not be done, which arrived a few days ago directly from Elizabeth Olsen, we know that the Marvel TV series has launched characters that, in some way, we will see again in the future within the MCU as in the case of Agatha Harkness, the new entry in the franchise interpreted by Kathryn Hahn.
We first met Agatha as the nosy neighbor Agnes who, undercover, had been constantly monitoring Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) ever since the newlyweds moved to Westview.
As the Disney + series continued, it slowly turned out that Agnes was none other than Wanda’s mentor Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch who takes power away from those who don’t deserve them. However, the events narrated in the show lead Agatha to attempt to seize the enormous power of Wanda, who has become permanently Scarlet Witch, except that she herself is stripped of her powers in the WandaVision finale and doomed to live eternally in Westworld in the “role” of the hottie Agnes.
Can Agatha Harkness return to the MCU after WandaVision?
This complex character has great potential, given that his comic counterpart has had more or less stable ties with the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, so much so that his return to the MCU is not to be excluded, a possibility that he recently talked about. ‘actress Kathryn Hahn, a real surprise from WandaVision.
Hann, in addition to confirming how WandaVision is a limited series, spoke of how it is all in all “easy” to get Agatha back:
Of course I would be willing to return. But I haven’t heard anything about it. I know Jac and everyone was very clear that this was going to be a limited series. And the season finale was definitive. I think it was a brilliant conclusion and I was so happy with everything.
However, if I ever return, there are so many aspects of her that I think are fascinating. She is involved in so many different worlds throughout the comics.
You know, she is a centennial witch and has lived and seen a lot, There are many different people and beings that she has crossed paths with over the past two centuries, so it would be a blast to explore.
The future of Agatha Harkness
At the moment we do not know if we will really find Agatha in the future, perhaps in some other Marvel production (television or film), the fact is that WandaVision has given us a character who, if well exploited, could put his “hand” everywhere, for the joy of all of us fans who continue to be entranced by the growing and satisfying narrative complexity of the MCU.
