The founders of the app, located in the Cofrentes Spa (Valencia), launched their project with the aim of helping older people to extend their life expectancy in good health by five years. The methodology of the Longevity Plan has been developed for 20 years in the spa and with Rosita they take it home with a combination of lifestyle, disease risk reduction and management of chronic pain such as osteoarthritis that leads to sedentary lifestyle.

Gerontologists and physiologists agree that the key to an effective strategy is consistency in treatment. Rosita’s subscribers are already using the service to do more than 280 minutes of physical exercise a week, when the WHO recommends a minimum of 150 minutes. These high-adherence results are due to its focus on activities be fun and adapted to the personal condition.

The investment round is led by Ship2B Ventures (impact venture capital manager from Barcelona through the BSocial Impact Fund co-invested by the European Investment Fund and Banco Sabadell), with investment from Wayra, JME, Kfund, Bankinter (through of the joint Venture Capital program with the Bankinter Innovation Foundation), Seedlink Ventures, University of Chicago, Seedcamp, and Cristobal Viedma, co-founder of Lingokids.

People know that in countries like Spain we have a life expectancy of about 85 years, but what they do not know is that life expectancy in good health is only 65 years due to diseases that in many cases can be prevented. However, health systems are saturated and their response to chronic problems such as osteoarthritis, which 70% of the elderly population suffers from, is basically pharmacological“, Explain Clara Fernandez, co-founder, and adds that as “doctors often prescribe exercise without tools or methodology, there is a lack of motivation and people give up or do not even start. The reason for our early success is that we don’t give people homework, we give them fun activities that they already want to do, tailored and motivated by our virtual and human coaches.”
