What are the Intel Alder Lake processors of most interest?

Knowing what the interests of users are, whether or not they are going to buy a product, is very interesting. A German medium has published which of the Intel Alder Lake-S processors (desktop models) interests users. The result, more or less, falls within what is expected and foreseeable. Emphasize that this is not necessarily purchase intention, but interest.

The new 11th Generation Intel processors, also called Alder Lake, bring big changes. The most notable is the change in the design of the cores. We went from having just one type of cores to two different types of cores. There are the power cores and the high-efficiency cores.

These are the Intel Alder Lake processors preferred by users

The data from this survey is not very surprising, although it is always good to know what users think. The 72.5% of users has an interest in Core-K processorswhile only 27.5% of users are interested in non-K Cores.

We can guess that users prefer to pay a little extra for the ability to increase the processor frequency. Having the ability to do a little overclocking to the Intel processor adds a little extra performance. This can be interesting in the long term, because if our system falls short, we can get extra performance.

These are the Intel processors that most users want

As the most chosen processor by users is the Core i7-12700K with the 38.9% of the votes. The second with the highest number of votes is the Core i5-12600K, with 17.6% of the votes. A rather curious fact is that the Core i9-12900K is in third position with 17.6%.

We can see that the Core i7 and Core i9 processors in the non-K range only interest 11.5% of users. Core i5 non-K processors are of interest to 13.3%, which is not a bad figure. Finally, Core i3 processors are of little interest to 2.7% of users.

Note that this data is based on the interest of users, which is different from products that have been purchased. Users are very interested in the high-end Intel and also quite interested in the mid-range. We can see that non-K Core processors are of limited interest and Core i3s are of little interest to anyone.

One thing is the interest, and another the budget

We would all like a big house or a very powerful car, but then there is what we can afford. The normal thing is that you always end up opting for a version or two inferior to the desired product.

Last Black Friday I was looking for a gaming laptop with an Intel processor and an RTX 3070 graphics card. I found a very limited offer and quite high prices. Finally, I opted for a gaming laptop with an Intel processor and RTX 3060 graphics card.

As you can see, my purchase intention was one, but in the end my budget made me opt for a laptop with “inferior” graphics. It is not a bad system, far from it, but due to budget I had to cut back. Well this is the same, many will want a Core i7-12700K and may end up opting for a Core i5 for budget.
