His real name is Arrow and, according to the comic book plot, it belonged to Iván Banionis, a member of the “Tracksuit Mafia.” Mistreated, Hawkeye he befriended them, and when it came time to confront them, Arrow sided with Hawkeye, biting a mob member when he was going to shoot Hawkeye.

The dog paid a high price for his heroism, being seriously injured. But nevertheless, Hawkeye took him to the hospital and survived, although he lost his left eye. Barton rechristened it as Lucky, also nicknamed the Pizza Dog, since he loves that food.

In the paper adventures of Hawkeye and Kate Bishop, Lucky is a regular and, in fact, in one the comics teams up with Nancy Whitehead’s cat and they are fundamental in the defeat of the Taskmaster.

As a curiosity, a couple of issues of Hawkeye are counted from the perspective of Lucky. What’s more, the origin of the character is in the dog that Matt Fraction, one of the scriptwriters of the comics of Hawkeye, lost shortly before taking the reins of the character.
