Do you want a good Pelis&Series plan for this weekend and you don’t know which titles to give them a try? Do not worry; here we are to solve it. As always, we leave you our entertainment proposals that have just arrived at Netflix, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video so that you only have to worry about having popcorn at home and a good blanket for the sofa.
What to watch on Netflix
It has gone empty at the Goya, but it is still one of the most famous films of recent months -its 8 nominations for the Spanish film awards endorse it. We talk about parallel mothersthe latest film by Pedro Almodóvar, which arrives today, Friday, at the red N platform for its subscribers.
With Penélope Cruz and Milena Smit as protagonists, it tells us the story of two mothers about to give birth who meet in a hospital room. Both are single and weren’t looking for a pregnancy, but their reactions and feelings leading up to the birth are very different. From there, a special bond will be created that will always accompany them.
What to watch on HBO Max
Well, I think it’s obvious what we’re going to recommend to you on the HBO Max platform. And it is that just yesterday the film arrived at the service’s catalog dunes, the super production based on the book of the same name with which Denis Villeneuve tries to bring the work of Frank Herbert to everyone.
It is not the first time that the writer’s great book has been brought to the big screen, but the truth is that until now the attempts had not been exactly… successful. With this new proposal, things seem to be somewhat more on track and although it is true that some will still have the feeling of a movie incomplete (this first installment is still only half of the book), the truth is that Villeneuve has not done a bad job with this adaptation, full of incredible special effects and many familiar faces such as Timothée Chalamet, Javier Bardem or Zendaya, among others) .
What to watch on Amazon Prime Video
If you are subscribed to Amazon Prime, you have access to its catalog of series and movies and with it the two premieres that we are proposing this week. The first one is season 4 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, in which our protagonist, Midge, finds a job that allows her total creative freedom. This, however, will create a gap between her and her family and friends around her that is difficult to bridge.
The other idea to see this weekend in the service is the movie The substitute. It is an Amazon Original product with a Spanish label starring Ricardo Gómez, Vicky Luengo and Pere Ponce and with Óscar Aibar directing.
In the film you will meet a young and hardened police officer, in the middle of the 80s, who finds himself inadvertently involved in the investigation into the murder of the inspector that he now has to replace in a small maritime city. Based on true events, critics have welcomed the story, so you should give it a try.
