what will happen after season 6?

As the final season lands in a few days in the UK. What does Peaky Blinders have in store for us in the future?

Peaky Blinders is about to close a vast chapter in its history. After five seasons of good and loyal service, the Shelby brothers return for a final burst of episodes on the BBC. While the appointment is set for February 28 across the Channeland that we are still waiting for a French date, its creator confided in what the future could hold for Peaky Blinders.

During an interview for Entertainment Weekly, Steven Knight confirmed that the adventures of our favorite characters will not end there. Final season will score in its own words “The beginning of the end”but the series still has some under the pedal. “We’re going to finish the show as it is right now, but we’re going to do the movie, which we’ll be shooting in 18 months, maybe a little longer.”

This is far from the first time that a series has taken over the big screen. Recently, Downton Abbey joined the cinema programming with a first feature film, a direct sequel to the series which spans 6 seasons. A second feature film is due out this year.

Spin-offs on the program

Now, it is very rare to see a popular series that does not have the right to a spin-off. the universe Game Of Thrones will for example be declined in several series, which will transport us years before or after the adventures of Jon Snow and the whole Stark family.

Peaky Blinders enjoys a solid reputation among fans of historical and drama series, so the announcement of the development of several spin-offs is therefore not fundamentally surprising. Projects still uncertain, which will be intimately linked to the film according to Steven Knight. He explains “after that, depending on how the structure of the movie comes together, we’ll be kicking off spin-offs that will be part of the same universe.”

In a month on Netflix

As UK viewers count the days to the launch of Season 6 of Peaky Blinders, Netflix subscribers do not yet have the exact deadline for France. Nevertheless, it should land a few weeks after the final on the BBC. We’ll keep an eye out when Netflix publishes its schedule for the next few weeks. This season should have a special flavor since it will be the first without Helen McCrory. The actress who camped Aunt Polly Gray died last April of cancer. The narration could pay homage to her, she who also distinguished herself at Harry Potter in the role of Narcissa Malfoy.
