Motorola’s Moto G 5G has become, in just over a year, the a more than remarkable mid-range option. We already told you about how promising it was, back in late 2020, and even before the launch of the Moto G 5G Plus. Thus, what we have been able to see during this time is that we are talking about a model that seems to have become one of the axes of the brand and that, consequently, we can expect periodic renewals of it.
And we may not have to wait too long, since Some data has already been leaked, as well as images which could be the Moto G 5G 2022. Said content has been leaked in Prepp, has the signature of the leaker OnLeaks, and tells us, among other things, that the code name by which they refer to this prototype in Motorola is Motorola Austina fact to take into account, since it is possible that said name will be seen, later, in the results of some popular benchmark, as well as in registrations in some regulators.
And it wouldn’t be the first time. Actually There was already a first sighting of the Motorola Austin last November, which showed us a smartphone with a perforated screen in the center and a triple camera system on the back presided over by a 5 megapixel sensor. We did not know it then, but we were already facing the first data of the still unpublished Moto 5 5G 2022.
The news that we have learned about it, thanks to this new leak, indicates that we are talking about a smartphone with a 6.6-inch screen powered by a Snapdragon 750G SoC, an integrated presented about a year and a half ago and made up of an octacore Kryo 570 CPU (four Cortex A77 cores at 2.2 gigahertz and another four Cortex A55 at 1.8 gigahertz) together with an Adreno 619 GPU, capable of providing up to 120 hertz with FullHD+ resolutions. And, of course, as the name of the smartphone itself indicates, 5G connectivity.
As stated, this SoC would be accompanied by 4 gigabyte of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage, expandable with a memory card up to 512 gigabytes. All this set would be fed by a 5,000 milliamp battery, with fast charging function (without specifying its speed). As for its exterior, the Moto G 5G 2022 has a volume rocker on the right side, along with a power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner. At the bottom we find a USB-C port flanked by a speaker, a microphone and a headphone jack.
If the November leak told us that the main camera was made up of three elements, and that the main one was a 50-megapixel sensor, now information about the other two elements is added, a 8 megapixel ultra wide angle and a lens two megapixel macro.
We are also told, to the bewilderment of many (including myself), that the Moto G 5G 2022 will hit the market with Android 11. This is one of those things that I don’t quite understand in the entry range, and even less so in the middle range. It’s been months since Android 12 hit the market (what’s more, we’ve been talking about its successor, Android 13, for some time), but despite this, we find recent devices and, even worse, some that haven’t even arrived yet. to the market, but that they do so with an older version of the operating system, and not with the current one.
Predictions suggest that the Moto G 5G will hit the market in June this year, and that its price will be around 275 euros.
