WhatsApp is about to add a new feature to its messaging app: the ability to block a contact with just one click. This is currently only available in the beta version.
You may sometimes receive messages from strangers on WhatsApp, and your first instinct is probably toignore the message and block the person. Good news for you, whether it’s a spam or just a little too annoying acquaintance, WhatsApp will soon release an update that will allow you to block your contacts even faster.
Indeed, WABetaInfo discovered that Meta had added a new feature on the application on beta versions 2.23.2.4 and 2.23.2.4. More specifically, it is a shortcut to block a person directly in the list of conversations, without having to open the chat concerned.

WhatsApp will allow you to block your friends with just one click
In addition to being able to block contacts directly from your chat history, WhatsApp is also developing another shortcut to block contacts, and this will be available directly in notifications.
When you receive a message from a stranger, WhatsApp will give you three options directly on the notification, as you can see in the image above. You can choose: answer, block or mute.
This new “block” option directly in the notification will not appear if someone is already on your contact list, since this obviously reduces the possibility that it is spam, and could lead to errors when users attempt to click “Reply”.
For now, the two new features that make it easier to access a “block” button are present only on the latest beta version of the application. It will therefore probably be necessary to wait several weeks before it arrives on the stable version. In the meantime, WhatsApp has rolled out a new option for all users, which allows them to bypass In0ternet shutdowns. It also allows the application to be used in regions where it would be blocked by the local government.
