Good news, Meta has just updated its WhatsApp app, and this new version is packed with changes that should improve the overall user experience. For starters, users will now be able to add captions when sending documents, which should make it easier to distinguish the different documents, especially in situations where many files are sent.

With this new version, number 2.22.24.73 on Android, WhatsApp also allows you to write much longer group descriptions to help users better describe their group. In total, you can add up to 500 characters. Another interesting addition is the possibility of create custom avatars and use them as profile pictures and stickers. To do this, simply go to Settings and click on Avatar.

WhatsApp increases the limit on the number of photos you can send

The main novelty of this update is probably a feature allowing you tosend up to 100 photos and videos at a time. Previously, the limit was set at only 30 photos and videos, which was not very practical for some users, who had to resort to sending several messages in a row.

The increase in the limit of photos in a single upload is therefore excellent news, especially since WhatsApp is about to revolutionize the transfer of images on its application. Meta would think of allowing its users who love beautiful images to send their pictures in original quality. To do this, it will be enough to go to the settings and activate an option, but it is not yet known exactly when this feature will be deployed.

Anyway, if you want to take advantage of the new WhatsApp update, you should know that only Android smartphone users have received the new version so far. WhatsApp hasn’t said when iPhone owners can expect it to arrive on iOS, but as usual, we imagine it will roll out in just a few weeks.
