WhatsApp will allow us to see the status of our contacts directly from the chats

Just a couple of weeks ago we were talking about the latest addition of emoji reactions for WhatsApp, but it seems that the messaging application plans to add another function more inherited from Instagram. And it is that as they have shared from WABetainfo, the latest beta version of WhatsApp shows that Zuckerberg’s company is currently working on a new feature to make WhatsApp statuses more accessible.

Currently Instagram users (with the latest version of the application installed) can see the updates of their friends’ stories through the list of their private chats, we will soon have a similar ability that will allow users to see the status updates of our contacts directly from the chats private.

As you can see from this screenshot, pulled through the contact finder, the first contact would have shared two status updates, shown through the circle around their profile picture, which can also be seen directly within the personal chat with this user, and even within the list of users within a group. This way, if we click on the chat cell, we will open the conversation with the contact as normal, but if we click directly on the profile picture of the contactwe will access these ephemeral publications.

Thus, it highlights the fact that on this occasion the new functionality to view status updates has been found within the WhatsApp Desktop application, although according to reports shared by WABetainfo, expected to arrive for all mobile app users on both Android and iOS in the future.

Unfortunately, at the moment it is completely unknown when we should expect to have this new feature, with the only advance being that it is in a development and testing process, so it may still take a few months to be able to use it a general level.
