Those responsible for WhatsApp they strive to improve the privacy offered through the messaging service (or so they show in the face of the gallery). In addition to the introduction of end-to-end encryption in the past, in the near future there could be self-destructing groups.
WhatsApp advanced a little over a year ago in its implementation of self-destructing messages, so the application of this mechanism at the group level should not be very surprising. Apparently those responsible for the service are still working on the implementation of self-destructing groups in the iOS beta branch of the appso, at least apparently, the door has been left open for its deployment to be asymmetric with respect to the operating systems, being able to reach iOS first and then Android.
The operation of the alleged self-destructing WhatsApp groups is not difficult to guess. Group administrators (users of the WhatsApp application that have that role) will be able to create group conversations that will be automatically deleted after the set time or date has passed. This brings benefits like freeing up space occupied by media that has been able to be shared across the group and greater control over privacy at least at the client level.
For now the feature allows you to set an expiration date which can be an amount of time (one day, one week) or a certain date. Said expiration date may be modified or eliminated at any time depending on the circumstances developed within the group itself.
At the moment there is no deployment date through the stable branch of the WhatsApp application, so the most curious should pull the beta branch of the compilation for iOS. On the other hand, for now there are no details about its arrival on Android, which will surely take place, but not necessarily at the same time as iOS.
