Don Toretto’s family will have their work cut out for them. The whole team will have to face a new villain, camped by none other than Jason Momoa. Between Groot and Aquaman, the fight promises to be epic.
The saga Fast and Furious approaches the finish line. After 9 films, followed closely by fans of big cars and fights, the universe returns for a tenth part of the adventures of Dominic Toretto and his family. A feature film which, according to the main actor, should set the bar even higher.
If the details of the plot are still secret, the casting is becoming clearer. A few weeks ago, Vin Diesel announced that it had recruited new big guys to expand its ranks. It’s about Jason Momoa, who plays Aquaman at DC, that the choice of Diesel fell. However, we did not yet know who the actor was going to camp. It is now done.
A bad boy with panache
At the premiere of The Batman, where he came to support his daughter-in-law Zoë Kravitz, Jason Momoa gave some details about the character he will play. Obviously, he will be on the side of the bad guys. At the microphone of ET, he confides:
“I’m going to do Fast 10, it will be fun. It’s fun to be able to play the bad guy, which I haven’t been able to do in a while. I can be the bad boy, with panache”.
It must be said that recently, Dwayne Johnson is rather on the other side of the line. He plays at DC Aquaman and recently made a notable appearance in Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve. He also embodies the main character of the series Seestreaming on Apple TV+.
No Dwayne Johnson
Despite Vin Diesel’s pleas, Dwayne Johnson will not return to the saga Fast and Furious. The tone is also mounted between the two actors on Instagram. As a reminder, The Rock camped Hobbs, a federal agent who ruthlessly tracked down the driving aces. He had been offered a spin-off with Jason Statham in 2019. Moreover, if the actor drew a line under Fast & Furioushe should come back in the skin of the character for a second part of Hobbs & Shaw which does not yet have a release date. He will also be featured in black adam this summer.
Fast & Furious 10 should be released on our screens on April 5, 2023. It will not be the last film, since the production of an eleventh opus has already been initiated. It should be shot straight away, so as not to waste too much time. Especially since it should conclude the saga initiated in 2001.
