Who is Fennec Shand, Boba Fett’s sidekick?

After watching the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett, you are probably wondering who the character played by Ming-Na Wen is. Here’s everything we know about Fennec Shand.

The Book of Boba Fett unveiled its first chapter this Wednesday, December 29 on Disney +. A new series stamped Star Wars, which promises to explore the destiny of the mythical bounty hunter. After making his comeback in The Mandalorian, the character seizes Jabba’s Palace and assassinates Bib Fortuna. He then becomes the lord of crime on the planet and can count on his right arm to help him in this endeavor.

If you haven’t watched The Mandalorian, the name of Fennec Shand is probably unknown to you. Still, the character is expected to play a key role in the series. We summarize what we know about the character played by Ming-Na Wen in The Book of Boba Fett.

A mercenary who rebels

The first time Fennec Shand appeared on our screens was in December 2019 in season 1 of The Mandalorian. In episode 5, she crosses paths with Din Djarin, whose head is priced after the latter runs away with Baby Yoda. We learn that she worked for the Hutt clan and that she was also the subject of a bonus. She will end up left for dead in the desert, before Boba Fett saves her.

We will have to wait until season 2 of The Mandalorian to see her again, accompanied by Boba Fett. After facing each other, the three characters will join forces to recover the Child. We will find them during the post-credits scene in Tatooine, as the character played by Temuera Morrison takes the throne. In the series, she will visibly be the right arm of Boba Fett and should thus help him to establish his new position as leader of the underworld of Tatooine.
