While the 12S series is exclusive to the Chinese market, Xiaomi is preparing another series of high-end smartphones: the 12T. And the first leaks about them have just appeared. These claim that the Pro version will pack the huge 200 megapixel Samsung sensor previously expected in the 12 series. The smartphone will also pack a nice configuration. Here are the first details.
Do you know how many declensions of ” Xiaomi 11 were presented in 2021? Between the Mi 11, the 11s, the 11X, the 11T? There were 12 ! A fairly long list that perfectly reflects the brand’s strategy for two years: to flood all market segments… like Samsung more than ten years ago. This strategy should be repeated this year with the Xiaomi 12. We are already at six iterations: Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12X, Xiaomi 12s, Xiaomi 12s Pro and Xiaomi 12s Ultra.

We tested the first two in our columns, but not the following ones. Why ? Because smartphones will not be released in France, even the three models recently announced by Xiaomi in China. This has been officially confirmed by the brand. We will therefore not take advantage of this gargantuan circular photo module offered by the Xiami 12s Ultra. We will have to wait for the next series to benefit from an updated configuration.
Samsung’s 200 MP sensor would arrive in the Xiaomi 12T Pro
Because a new series is obviously in preparation. A series that will, like the Xiaomi 11T, be launched internationally. And therefore potentially in Europe. According to rumors, it is neither more nor less than the 12T series. This name is starting to circulate on social networks. And there are even some rumors about them. One of them comes from a leaker who officiates on Twitter and you can find a link to his message at the end of this article. He mentions the Xiaomi 12T Pro as well as some details of its technical sheet.
The first important element mentioned is the nature of the photo sensor: it would be a model 200 megapixels developed by Samsung. We know of two models that fit this description: the HP1 and the HP3. These are two great sensors that have yet to make it into a phone. Rumors from the beginning of the year claimed that Xiaomi intended to equip one of the Xiaomi 12. But this is not the case, even in the 12S series.
Will Xiaomi release its smartphone with the 200 MP sensor before Motorola?
The Xiaomi 12T Pro would therefore be one of the first to benefit from this very high resolution sensor. Other brands could launch a smartphone with an equivalent sensor during the summer. We are thinking in particular of Motorola. For the rest, the Xiaomi 12T Pro would benefit from an update of its processor, moving to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Xiaomi would also offer him a screen 120Hz AMOLED (already present on the 12) and 256 GB of storage. The price of the smartphone would be between 550 and 650 euros. Knowing that it is a conversion, a French public price would be much higher. So these are the first rumors about the Xiaomi 12T Pro. And there will certainly be others before a launch which will most certainly take place at the end of the summer.
