Willow: filming of the sequel series is underway

I was only 3 years old when Willow it debuted in theaters in 1988 and, now, 33 years later, it’s really happening: I am filming officially started of the sequel TV series.

As anticipated some time ago, the filming of the series, whose debut is scheduled for 2022 on Disney +, started a few hours ago in Bridgend, Wales; or in the same locations where the first film was shot.

Warwick Davis is now on the set of the show and we know the names of will also join him Ellie Bamber, Erin Kellyman is Tony Revolori.

Jonathan Entwistle (The End of the F *** ing World is I Am Not Okay With This) he will be the director of the series, whose plot we know will be the sequel to the story told in the film. This should tell the adventure of Dove (Bamber), a maid who proves to be the “chosen one”, and embarks on a journey with a group of adventurers. She is joined by Kit, a princess whose twin brother has been kidnapped. Kit is destined to be a leader as well as the future queen. Kellyman instead plays Jade, a servant who is Kit’s best friend and moral compass.

Ron Howard is involved in the project along with Bob Dolman, the author of the film, Kathleen Kennedy is Michelle Rejwan. Jonathan Kasdan (Solo: A Star Wars Story) is the executive producer of the series and wrote the script for the first episode with Wendy Mericle.
