If you are still on Windows 10, you will have to start seriously thinking about switching to Windows 11. Indeed, if Microsoft has so far been lenient towards the (many) users who do not have the necessary hardware to install the latest version of the operating system, his patience obviously has limitsapparently reached at the start of 2023.

Yesterday, the Redmond company announced the end of the sale of Windows 10 for next January 31. And don’t plan to stop there. At the same time as the presentation of the latest update for Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft published a message on its site which says a lot about its intentions. Indeed, in just two months, Windows 10 will no longer receive certain updateswhich will then be reserved for his successor.

Windows 10 slowly begins to say goodbye

“After March 2023, there will be no more optional updates, other than security updates, for supported editions of Windows 10, version 20H2 and Windows 10, version 21H2. Only cumulative monthly security updates (known as Release “B” or Update Tuesday) will continue for these releases. Windows 10, version 22H2 will continue to receive security builds and optional builds. »

Remember that Microsoft will definitely stop supporting Windows 10 20H2 on May 9, 2023. The 21H2 version will follow a little later, the June 13 following for Home and Pro versions. Enterprise versions will be supported until June 11, 2024. For Microsoft, 2023 will therefore be the year of spring cleaning. The farewells have already started, with the official end of Windows 7 a few days ago.
