Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 22H2, the latest update to that operating system, is giving major problems with Remote Desktop, a feature that is very important for many professionals, and that makes life a little easier for administrators and IT experts.
Despite the fact that Microsoft subjected Windows 11 22H2 to numerous tests, and that this build passed as usual through the Insider channel, some errors ended up escaping. This has already become a classic, and the truth is that it doesn’t surprise us at all, since the release of the semi-annual Windows updates has always been accompanied by some errors, and problems of greater or lesser importance.
According to various reports from customers and IT administrators, the release of Windows 11 22H2 has been causing numerous issues with the Remote Desktop feature. These vary but we know that they range from more minor problems, such as connection losses, to more serious ones, such as hangs and crashes.
A Microsoft employee has said that the company is aware and is working on it, although it seems that they are at an early stage at the moment, as they are investigating the situation. It can take a long time to release a fix, and therefore all affected people have been advised to roll back to the previous version of Windows 11or disable UDP connections to overcome this problem.
We will have to wait and see how long Microsoft takes to launch a solution, but from what we are seeing, everything seems to indicate that we will have to be patient. In any case, this is yet another example of the Redmond giant still has a lot of work to do when it comes to profiling and polishing their updates before releasing them to the general channel.
