Windows 12 appears on the scene, and it could arrive sooner than we expected

When Microsoft released Windows 10, the company claimed that it was the last version of the operating system to reach users. And so it was for 6 years, a period during which this system was receiving improvements and features with which it was evolving. However, by surprise, in the summer of 2021, the company presented what would be its successor, the current Windows 11, breaking all the promises it made 6 years ago. And while Windows 11 isn’t even two years old yet, its successor may already be just around the corner.

Windows 11 has been a controversial operating system since day one. The inexplicable minimum requirements imposed by Microsoft, as well as some too radical changes, have meant that not all users are happy with this new system. In addition, its release dated the end of support for Windows 10, in 2025, leaving all users who have not updated until then without any kind of support.

However, Microsoft may already have other plans in mind to continue to dominate the desktop market. And it is that, according to a quick leak, already removed from the network, it is possible that we will see the successor to Windows 11 much sooner than we imagine.

Intel already has processors for Windows 12

Just yesterday, a well-known and reliable hardware leaker published internal information from processor manufacturer Intel revealing its roadmap. It revealed the company’s new chipset, prepared for its future processors, their characteristics (such as the Wi-Fi 7 support), and a very curious detail: Windows 12 compatibility.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the next generation of Windows. Considering that in the past Microsoft has released new operating systems in a 3-year timeframe, and that Windows 11 arrived in 2021, it would make sense. see the new Windows 12 in 2024specifically for the end of the year.

That manufacturers already know about the future of Windows makes sense. We must bear in mind that Microsoft is betting very heavily on Artificial Intelligence, and for this it needs manufacturers to include dedicated AI chips in their processors to perform certain tasks.

A rumor that we must take with caution

There are also other indications that make us think about the existence of this operating system. For example, it’s not the first time we’ve heard of it, and its market share is growing much more slowly than Microsoft expected. Besides, Windows 10 ends support in 2025so by then there will almost certainly be two versions of Windows on the market, not just Windows 11 as an alternative.

This information disappeared from the network very quickly, so now it is difficult to find it. But the user who has leaked it is legit, within the world of hardware leaks. So it’s clear that at some point we’ll see Windows 12 come to fruition. The question is, will we see it in 2024, or will we still have to wait a few more years before meeting the successor to the current Windows 11?
