With this trick, Windows Defender will not block your torrent downloads

Security in today’s computers is a key element in most cases, hence the importance of antiviruses. However, in certain occasions or ways of using the PC, these programs can become a problem. This is precisely the case that we are going to talk about related to the antivirus included in the Microsoft system, Windows Defender.

Here we are talking about a powerful antivirus that has not stopped improving over the years, becoming one of the main proposals in the sector. In this way, those from Redmond have improved existing functions and have included new ones. Such is the case, we refer to security levels, which on certain occasions go beyond what is desired. We mean that the Windows Defender control and blocking features, as happens with many other antiviruses, on certain occasions they are exceeded.

This is something that you have surely seen first-hand on some occasion when visiting a suspicious website, or downloading a file. Even knowing that what we do is safe, the antivirus probably blocks us. This is a case that we can also find in the event that we are going to download torrent files. This is something that we generally carry out from the corresponding client that we have installed on the computer.

However, in the same way on certain occasions we can see that it does not work since the downloads are blocked by windows antivirus. But as you can imagine this is something that we can avoid in a simple way, as we are going to see.

Download Torrent Files Despite Windows Defender

Well, if we see that this security software blocks our downloads through the P2P client, we will have to make a couple of changes. The first thing we must do is give permission to system firewall to use client connections as such. Most of these offer us this possibility in the installation of the program, we just have to accept the change. But if we want to do it manually, we just have to access this security component manually from the button Allow another app.

In this way, what we are really doing is telling the operating system’s firewall to allow the connections that are made from this client. Obviously, all this is something that affects both uploads and downloads of Torrent files. With everything and with it to make sure that we are not going to have problems in this type of treatment in the future, we are going to make another simple change.

For this we only have access the antivirus as such via the Settings app. Next, we go to the update and security section in order to access Windows Security. Once here we have nothing but add the folder that we have configured for downloads, to the Windows Defender exclusions section. With this, what we do is that the antivirus does not take into account that disk location and thus we can download our Torrent without any type of blockage or problems.
