After the first image of Timothée Chalamet as Willy Wonka, shared by the actor himself through his social channels, new photos and videos from the set of Wonka, the film about the origins of the character created by Roald Dahl.

A few days ago the entire cast of the film was also announced, which includes in addition to Timothée Chalamet also the Oscar winner Olivia Colman (The Favorite), Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), the Oscar nominated Sally Hawkins (The Shape of Water) and the previously Emmy nominated and Peabody Award winner Keegan-Michael Key (The Prom). They will join them Tom Davis, Simon Farnaby, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, And Matt Lucas, as well as Mathew Baynton (Ghosts), Jim Carter (Downton Abbey), Rich Fulcher (Marriage Story), Paterson Joseph (Noughts + Crosses), Calah Lane (The Day Shall Come), Colin O’Brien (The Mothership), Natasha Rothwell (White Lotus), Rakhee Thakrar (Sex Education) ed Ellie White (The Other One).

Paul King wrote the script for the film with his Paddington 2 co-writer, Simon Farnaby.

The acclaimed director will direct the film Paul King of the Paddington film series, along with the Oscar-nominated producer David Heyman (Harry Potter, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) who will produce the film together with Luke Kelly (Witches) And Alexandra Derbyshire (Jurassic World: Dominion).

The film’s behind-the-scenes creative team also includes the Oscar-nominated cinematographer Seamus McGarvey (Anna Karenina, Atonement); the Oscar-nominated production designer Nathan Crowley (Tenet, Dunkirk); the fitter Mark Everson (Paddington); and the Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (Paddington).

Neil Hannon of the band The Divine Comedy is writing the original songs for the production.

Shooting for the film is taking place in the UK and is already scheduled for theatrical release March 17, 2023.
