Xbox Game Pass: Microsoft added more than 5,500 euros of video games to its service in 2021

In 2021, Microsoft has bet everything on its Xbox Game Pass subscription, which provides access to a huge library of several hundred games that are renewed regularly. Some gamers even go so far as to compare the service to Netflix, but for video games.

We can say that the Xbox Game Pass had its best year in 2021. The service recently saw the arrival several games that made a huge success, including Among Us or Halo Infinite in December. In particular, gamers were also able to enjoy Forza Horizon 5, the racing game that broke all launch records for an Xbox exclusive.

Most console gamers consider Xbox Game Pass to be the best deal in the video game market, and they’re probably right. Indeed, according to the calculations made by our colleagues at The Loadout, the Xbox Game Pass saw the arrival of a colossal number of games in 2021. We are talking about a total value of 6,317.35 dollars (5,588 euros), calculated against the prices of individual games on the official Microsoft store. However, the subscription only costs 9.99 euros per month or 12.99 euros per month if you choose the Ultimate option, which also includes the Gold subscription to play online (6.99 euros only) and the EA Play subscription to enjoy Electronic Arts games.

March was the best month on Game Pass

According to calculations by The Loadout, Microsoft reportedly added games valued at $ 964.67 (€ 853) in March 2021 alone. Among these, there were more than twenty games from Bethesda, which had been added to the service after the takeover of the publisher and its developers by Microsoft. The service also hosted 12 other games at the same time, including Outriders, Octopath Traveler and Star Wars Squadrons.

In comparison, other services have also been very generous with their subscribers. This is for example the case of Stadia, which offered its Pro subscribers 83 games worth nearly $ 2,000 worth of games in 2021, based on data from Stadia Pro Game Monitor.
