Xbox Series X: the latest update removes the unbearable noises of your teammates

Since its launch in November 2020, Microsoft has rolled out numerous updates for its Xbox Series X/Series S, with the aim of improving the user experience. And precisely, the manufacturer has just released an update for members of the Insider program. It incorporates a noise suppression function during your online conversations.

If you have ever played online with friends or strangers, you must have experienced this kind of situation. Sometimes it happens that some players forget that their microphone is on when emptying a packet of chips. The other great classic is the deafening sound of breathing due to a microphone glued to your mouth. So many unbearable noises that can be very annoying and which can even deprive you of victory on titles where audio is essential.

If your favorite teammate has the annoying tendency to chew like a cow in the chat room, Microsoft has the solution for you. Indeed, the Redmond firm has just published a new update on Xbox Series X and Series S. Reserved for members of the Insider program, this update includes a noise suppression feature during your chat conversations.

We’ve enabled a new feature that will process your microphone input through a noise suppression stage to help produce cleaner audio in your Party Chat session. The setting is enabled by default, but can be toggled from the options drop-down menu”, explains Microsoft.

No more chewing noises, cat meows or the shrill noises of a motorbike passing in the street of your teammate. It will be worth trying this feature once it becomes available to the general public to determine its effectiveness or not. Since the launch of the console in November 2020, the Xbox Series X has received many updates, with new features such as control of your TV via the controller, integration of stories on the Xbox app or still the possibility of testing your HDMI audio format and all the speakers connected to your console.

For the moment, impossible to know when this noise canceling feature will be available to everyone. Note that only Alpha Skip Ahead users have access to it. At this grade, users have access to pre-release versions of Xbox software that won’t roll out for several weeks.
