It’s now been nearly a month since we learned that Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is working on a new Xiaomi 12 Lite, with the smartphone spotted in late March on the Geekbench benchmark. A leaker then revealed the entire technical sheet of the smartphone a few weeks before its release. From now on, we are sure that the smartphone will soon hit the market.

On the Weibo social network, a user has already had the opportunity to take control of the Xiaomi 12 Lite, and took the opportunity to reveal stolen photos of the device. According to the pictures, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will unsurprisingly be inspired by the design of the recent Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and 12X for the photo sensor on the back. However, the affordable smartphone uses flat edgeslike the Redmi Note 11.

What technical characteristics for the Xiaomi 12 Lite?

The Xiaomi 12 Lite will not be revolutionary compared to the previous generation, but it will still bring some welcome changes. Indeed, unlike the Xiaomi 11 Lite of 2021, the Xiaomi 12 Lite will use a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It will therefore be larger than the classic Xiaomi 12, but smaller than the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The smartphone would rely on a battery of 4500 mAh compatible with 67 W fast charging.

The Xiaomi 12 Lite will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, a chip released last year that offers interesting performance on mid-range smartphones. On the photo side, the smartphone will use a three-camera setup, with a 64 MP main sensor, an 8 MP ultra wide-angle sensor as well as a 5 MP macro sensor. The selfie part will be managed by a 16 MP sensor.

As the smartphone has already been picked up, the launch is expected to be imminent. Xiaomi unveiled its Poco F4 GT yesterday, so it could be that the new mainline series device is coming by early May.
