Xiaomi will unveil its new high-end Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro smartphones in Europe in a few weeks, and one of the devices has already passed the Geekbench 5 benchmark benches.
Xiaomi had lifted the veil at the end of 2021 on its new Xiaomi 12X, 12 and 12 Pro in China. Whereas the former would likely remain exclusive to China, the other two models are expected to arrive in Europe shortly, and the Xiaomi 12 has already been spotted on the Geekbench 5 benchmark before its release.
The listing of Geekbench 5 reveals that the smartphone carries the model number “2201123G” and that it is the version with 8 GB of RAM. Xiaomi is also marketing another version in China with 12 GB of RAM, but we don’t know yet if this will come to us. The smartphones have also received a new MIUI 13 update allowing them to increase their amount of RAM by 3 GB thanks to the storage space.
The Xiaomi 12 will arrive in France with Android 12
As revealed by the Geekbench 5 benchmark, the European Xiaomi 12 seems to use Android 12, which means that it will come to us with the new MIUI 13 overlay. This is not really a surprise, since Xiaomi recently officially announced that the update was coming to Europe. For those of you in a hurry, it is already possible to download MIUI 13 on some devices with an unofficial ROM.
We also notice that the smartphone obtains a score of 711 points on one heart and 2834 points with all the hearts, which is well below the performance of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. No worries at this level, the scores provided by Geekbench for models that have not yet been unveiled are not always consistent, since most use software updates not yet finalized.
For the moment, it is not known exactly when Xiaomi intends to present its new high-end smartphones outside of China, but their launch should be imminent. In the meantime, all eyes are on the presentation of the Redmi Note 11 on January 26.
