Xiaomi has just released its new version of its TV dongle: the TV Stick 4K. As its name suggests, it brings ultra HD compared to the previous model. There was no big announcement from the manufacturer, who simply put it on their site.
Xiaomi is on all fronts and that of TV is one of them. The manufacturer has indeed released products such as the Mi Box or the TV Stick, dongle to connect in HDMI on your television. The brand returns with a new iteration: the TV Stick 4K.
No shattering announcement or even a press release to unveil this product, since Xiaomi was satisfied to update the product sheet on its official website.
Xiaomi improves its TV stick
It must be said that the TV Stick 4K is not really a revolution from the manufacturer. In effect, it just improves an already existing product. So we always have a dongle that plugs into the TV. It is equipped with Android 11 (with the PlayStore) with the manufacturer’s overlay.
It is now able to display 4K, but also supports HDR10 and is compatible with AV1, H.264, H.265, MPEG-2, MPEG-1 and VP9 formats. Xiaomi does not give the on-board processor, but specifies that it is a Cortex-A35 quad-core CPU with a Mali-G3 GPU. There is 2 GB of RAM as well as 8 GB for storage. In short, we are in the great classic.
Note that the product comes with a remote control very simple with prominent Amazon Prime Video and Netflix buttons. In short, the ideal object to transform your 4K TV into Android TV. Convenient to consume content easily but also stream from your phone.
At the moment, this Xiaomi TV Stick 4K does not yet have a price. However, similar products from the competition sell for between 30 and 60 euros depending on the manufacturer. It would be surprising if Xiaomi’s product did not settle in this price bracket. It is not yet known when this dongle will go on sale and if it will be marketed in France.
