Xiaomi has the iPhone 13 in its sights. The Chinese manufacturer has started to tease its future Xiaomi 12 by targeting Apple’s flagship smartphone.
The year of the smartphone is not quite over yet. Xiaomi must indeed present on December 28 a new model, the Xiaomi 12, which goes against current trends: its screen will indeed be smaller than its predecessor, the Mi 11. In this case, it will be 6.28 inches , instead of 6.81 inches.
One of the first smartphones to integrate the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
Xiaomi seeks the direct confrontation with the iPhone 13, the manufacturer opposing the two smartphones in several teasers. The first shows that the Xiaomi 12 will be 69.9mm wide, compared to 71.5mm for Apple’s model. And this, despite a larger screen (that of the iPhone 13 is 6.1 inches). But the ratio is also different, the panel of the Xiaomi will be narrower, but longer.
Beyond these comparisons which do not make much sense, the new smartphone and its Pro version will be particularly interesting to follow. Their AMOLED screen will thus have a refresh of 120 Hz, with a brightness pushing up to 1,600 nits. Inside you’ll find a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, Qualcomm’s brand new chip.
A leaked Geekbench benchmark recently revealed scores of 1,224 in single-core, and 3,823 in multi-core. Results very close to those noted by Qualcomm on its reference device (1.235 / 3.837), and superior to those of the Snapdragon 888 that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 replaces (1.100 / 3.500).
