The Chinese brand today presented its new Mi Smart Projector 2, a compact and powerful video projector, aimed at movie lovers.
Intended for all those who would not want to leave the comfort of their living room to make themselves a canvas, Xiaomi today presented its new Mi Smart Projector 2, a compact video projector capable of adapting to even small spaces to project a screen up to 120 inches diagonally in Full HD. Weighing 1.3 kg, and a cube format of 13 cm per side, the device offers a resolution of (only) 1920 x 1080 px, and the promise of transforming any series into a private projection.
No need to adjust the image
With its XXL format, the Mi Smart Projector 2 also offers a omnidirectional automatic projection screen correction, which can display upright images in seconds on the wall surface. The assurance of a clean and perfectly adjusted rendering promises the brand, which also relies on its integrated speaker. The latter will not only make it possible to use the video projector independently to watch a film or a series, but also to serve as aindependent connected audio speaker, by being connected directly to a smartphone.
On the audio side, the new projector from Xiaomi also offers Dolby Audio compatibility, for the assurance of clear and immersive sound. A remote control integrating the Google Assistant also makes it possible to navigate between the different services of the interface, and to control by voice the different IoT devices connected to the home network.
Android TV… without TV
Another major asset for the Mi Smart Projector 2, the device logically works under Android TV, and thus allows its user to take advantage of all of its Android services within the same interface. As on a classic smart TV, it will thus be possible to directly access Spotify, Netflix, Amazon Prime or even YouTube.
Expected in January, the Xiaomi Mi Smart Projector 2 will soon be available on the brand’s official website, as well as at certain authorized retailers. It will be necessary to count around 600€ to hope to offer you the device, which is positioned in direct competition with the Samsung Freestyle video projector, yet offered nearly 400€ more expensive.
