Xiaomi has presented the Redmi Note 12 in China, the new version of one of the best-selling mid-range series in the smartphone market.
The series will be sold in four versionsRedmi Note 12 5G, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+ and the most advanced version “Discovery Edition”, which stands out above the rest especially for a 210-watt fast charging system that will fully recharge the battery in just nine minutes.
The screen is common to the entire series, although the base model reduces some of its features such as support for HDR10 + and Dolby Vision. Is a 6.67-inch OLED with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz. Its brightness is 500 nits and its contrast ratio is 5,000,000:1.
The camera system of the two main models includes a triple sensor camera where a Samsung HPX (1/1.4″, f/1.65, 7P) stands out. 200 megapixels, in addition to an 8MP ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP macro. The front, located in a hole in the screen, is 16 MP.
As for its engine, the base model uses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, while the rest advances through a more powerful SoC, a brand new Dimensity 1080 from MediaTek. The RAM is of the LPDDR4x type, while the storage uses UFS 2.2 in different amounts, depending on the version, from 4 to 12 GB of RAM and from 128 to 256 GB.
They have stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack. Dual SIM + Dual 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC and side fingerprint reader. Again, the base model reduces performance looking for a better price and stays with Wi-Fi 5. In batteries, the first three models use a 5,000 MHz one, while the Discovery stays at 4,300 mAh, but it is the one that mounts the system mentioned 210W HyperCharge capable of fully recharging the terminal in 9 minutes.
Redmi Note 12, versions and prices
Xiaomi distributes the series in the four versions mentioned and in variants according to your RAM memory and storage:
- Redmi Note 12 5G: from 1,199 RMB ($165) with 4GB + 128GB. You can equip up to 8 GB + 256 GB.
- Redmi Note 12 Pro: Starting at RMB 1,699 ($234) with 6GB + 128GB. You can equip up to 12 GB + 256 GB.
- Redmi Note 12 Pro+: Starting at RMB 2,199 ($303) with 8GB + 256GB. You can equip up to 12 GB + 256 GB.
- Redmi Redmi Note 12 DISCOVERY EDITION will cost 2,399 RMB ($331).
All models pre-install the layer on top of the user interface MIUI 13 based on Android 12. They will be available in various color finishes in the month of November on all Xiaomi channels in China. It is certain that they will reach the international market shortly because it is one of the best-selling series of the company and the mid-range of smartphones.
