Although most of the operating system news that we are seeing and reading lately focuses on the betas that are being developed and that lead us to the final versions that have to be released in September, it is still necessary to keep an eye on the one that is right now working. macOS Monterey at the moment is the one that officially dominates the scenarios and now more than ever it is necessary update to version 12.5.1 because it fixes some Zero Day type vulnerabilities that are crucial to fix.
A Zero Day vulnerability is one that has just been discovered and therefore there is not yet a solution for it. As long as that happens, attackers can take advantage of that vulnerability and make their own on our computers and it doesn’t matter if it’s Apple. Although they are not that frequent, attacks and viruses on macOS do exist. That is why you have to take care of them and the best thing is always keep our operating system always updated to the latest version.
At the moment as far as macOS Monterey is concerned, that is version 12.5.1. It is also right now the one capable of correcting a series of vulnerabilities of those mentioned. This refers specifically to a problem in the kernel and WebKit that could allow attackers to execute arbitrary code on a Mac. In these cases, Cupertino says, the vulnerabilities may already have been actively exploited. This makes it doubly important to install the latest version as soon as possible.
If you have the updates automatically then it will come out as soon as you expect it, but if this is not the case or you want to force its presence and therefore its installation, you just have to go to System Preferences–>Updates and request it as soon as possible.
