You can now download The Sims 4 + DLC for free, and you’ll keep them forever!

The Sims is one of EA’s best-known sagas. This title has always been considered “the game for those who don’t like video games”, since its approach, as a life simulator, is capable of engaging anyone for hours in front of the computer. The last installment of this game saw the light of day in 2014, already 8 years ago. Since then it has received a multitude of updates and nearly 60 DLCs full of content so that people do not lack hours of play. And, although it has always been a paid game, from today we will be able to download it for free.

Maxis and EA are already marking the end of an era with their game The Sims 4. And that is why, to finish in style, and finish reaching those players who did not give it a chance in the last 8 years, have decided put the base game, and a DLC, completely free. In this way, we can all add the game to the library, and play it, with a view to the arrival of a new installment of the saga.

The Sims 4

The The Sims 4 base game we can download it completely free of charge, and without small print, both from the EA platform itself and from Steam, so that we can choose the platform that we like the most to play this game. If we do it from Steam, we must know that to play we will have to go, yes or yes, through EA’s own launcher.

In addition to the game, we can also find for free the DLC “Happy Holidays” for this game. This pack has always been free, since its launch in June 2020, and in it we can find a large number of decorations and outfits to celebrate all kinds of festive events. A complement that, although it doesn’t add much, is at least an addition to the base game.

Likewise, we can get it both on Steam (where we recommend) and on the EA store itself.

For now, EA has only given users this DLC. If we want to get hold of the others, and add much more quality content, we will have to go through the box yes or yes. The price of each DLC is very varied, and ranges from 5 euros, in the case of a simple expansion with few additions, to 20 euros in the case of larger expansions. Of course, getting hold of all of them will be very, very expensive, and the fact is that the price of all expansions of The Sims 4 launched to date amounts to 650 euros. About 1000 euros if we do not buy it with an offer.

A new Sims 5 just around the corner

Just yesterday, along with the launch of The Sims 4 for free, the company made a new, and mysterious, announcement: Rene Project. This new project seeks a renewal and a rebirth, an evolution of everything that this saga has been since its arrival in the year 2000. Obviously, Proyecto Rene is none other than the new The Sims 5.

With this new installment, Maxis and EA want to offer the player new ways to play, taking creativity and imagination to a new level. And they’ll go even deeper into creating stories with the characters, both solo and in group play.

For now, this is nothing more than a project that still has many months of development left. But, while we wait, at least we will be able to play The Sims 4 without having to pay a single euro.
