you can now race Gran Turismo 7 tracks in 120 FPS

An update eagerly awaited by Gran Turismo players on PS5 has finally arrived. This brings support for 120 FPS for all those equipped with an HDMI 2.1 cable and a compatible monitor. This new version also brings never-before-seen cars to the game as well as the Cherry Blossom theme for the cherry blossom season.

The least we can say is that Gran Turismo 7 had a rather complicated launch. Between technical concerns and an economic model that has caused controversy, the cult license has not been there for many players. Also, the title is now trying to restore its image with a lot of updates and new features. The most striking is undoubtedly the addition of the VR mode last month, which arrived just in time for the release of PS VR 2.

Today is a new update that improves the experience of players a little more, at least those on PS5. Indeed, this finally allows you to enjoy the console at its full power, namely in 120FPS. To do this, simply download version 1.31 of the racing game, which unlocks the framerate up to the limits allowed by the machine. Note that you will still need an HMDI 2.1 cable and a compatible monitor.

After VR, Gran Turismo 7 takes the 120 FPS turn

This update does not just add 120 FPS support, as no less than 5 cars also join the stables. The cars in question are the 1964 Porsche Carrera GTS 904, the 1987 Porsche 959, the 2018 Toyota Alphard Executive Lounge, the 2019 Audi RS 5 Turbo DTM and the 2019 Mazda3 X Burgundy Selection. In addition, the Nürburgring circuit has two new tracks.

The Endurance route thus combines the Nordschleife and Grand Prix versions of the mythical circuit, for a total of almost 24km all the same. The Sprint route, for its part, is as its name suggests much shorter, since it is the Grand Prix version of “only” 3,629 meters. Finally, the update adds the “Cherry Blossom” theme to Scapes mode, which will delight fans of cherry blossom season in Japan.
