Only a few hours separate us from the closure of Stadia and it seems that Google continues to comply with the roadmap that has been set to manage the closure of the service. If the refunds began shortly after the closing announcement, and the developers have also done what was left of their part, today one of the most anticipated moments has arrived, and it was already announced by the company at the end of last week: the publication of the necessary tool so that the command can be used with any device with support for Bluetooth controls.
Something in which the vast majority of Stadia users agree (we agree) is in the positive evaluations of the Stadia controller, a comfortable, robust and reliable controller that, in combination with the now almost defunct service, has provided a gaming experience most satisfactory for many users. Thus, since Google announced that it was working on it, at the beginning of last October, we have been waiting for this moment to arrive so that we can continue using it, now with other devices and services, without having to give up its wireless connectivity, since from the first moment it has always been possible to connect it to the PC through a cable.
In the explanations provided by Google about the process, we also find the reason why the publication of this tool has been left for the last moment, when there are only a few hours left before the service closes, and that is that when carrying out In the process, the controller will switch to Bluetooth mode, which will no longer support Stadia. And yes, in case you are wondering, the process is irreversible, that is, once you carry it out, you will no longer be able to use the controller with Stadia.
The first thing you should know, for your peace of mind, is that you have plenty of time to carry out this operation, since the necessary tools will be operational and available until December 31 of this year. In addition, during it, you will also be able to periodically check if any update of the Bluetooth mode has been published. Keep in mind, of course, that when you use the wireless connection of the Stadia controller and in Bluetooth mode you will not be able to use its minijack port to connect your headphones. This function will continue to work, yes, when you use it via cable.
Also remember that, if you have been a Stadia user, you still have time to download your data from the service through Google Takeout. Here we will tell you how to do it but, remember, the service will be closed in hours, and we do not know until when, after the closure, it will be possible to recover this information, so it is best to hurry up.
