You may be surprised at how much information Netflix knows about you.

Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Apple and, in general, any operating system, application, platform or web page that we use regularly, collects a large amount of data about how we use it. These records are not created for the sole purpose of collecting information to be collected, but rather, in most cases, it always has a justified purpose and that is none other than to improve and offer better services to users.

The data that Google collects from each user allows it to offer personalized recommendations for each and every one of its services. The same happens with any operating system, including Apple’s, although it boasts of being a champion of privacy, since, deep down, it also collects user data from all the iPhones, iPads and Macs that it puts on the market and whose purpose is the same as Google’s: to improve its services and offer personalized ads. Exactly the same thing happens with Microsoft. And what about other platforms?

If we talk about streaming platforms, both music and video, we should know that, although it may seem strange, they also collect the use we make of their platforms, however, and unlike Google, Microsoft and Apple, they do not use them to third parties can contract advertising campaigns to focus on certain users through the data they have. Netflix, for example, the most widely used streaming platform in the world, collects a large amount of information about the user from all users of the same account. What data does it collect? Many and the most varied.

The file Additional Information informs us of what data is collected, what is its purpose and what is done with that data.
