Your computer can’t install Windows 11 but it has a solution

When Windows 11 was finally available, there were not a few users who found themselves in the position of not being able to install it; On this website we have talked extensively about the requirements to install the new Microsoft operating system on the PC, but what if you still have no power? Can it be installed if your PC does not meet these requirements? In this article we are going to tell you what to do if you receive the message “This computer can’t run windows 11» when trying to install it.

Among the requirements to install Windows 11 are specifically two that, although they have to do with the system’s hardware, may sound Chinese to some users. One of them is the need for the motherboard to be compatible with TPM 2.0and the other that the equipment has enabled Secure Boot.

Run Windows 11 on an unsupported PC

The ideal thing is that your PC has the TPM 2.0 module installed and configured (and in this link we tell you how), and that you have Secure Boot activated in the BIOS of your PC (to do this, access the BIOS of your PC and go to Advanced Options or to Boot (and there you should find the Secure Boot option, where you can enable it, it’s that simple), but if you do not meet one or more of these conditions, you will not be able to install Windows 11 or upgrade from windows 10where you will receive an error similar to this.

However, there are alternative ways to install Windows 11 on a PC that is not supported by its hardware, although it is true that you should be aware that they are unofficial alternatives and with which you may run into problems (by this we want to tell you that , you still might not be able to run Windows 11 on your PC, especially if it’s too old).

To do this, you must already have Windows 10 installed on your PC and access this GitHub repository, where you must download the file called Windows11Upgrade_EN.zip and then unzip it to some folder on your PC. Once you have unzipped the files on your PC, select the Windows11Upgrade executable and right-click on it, then select the “Run as Administrator” option.

Run Windows 11 upgrade

A window will open in which you will have to select if you want to perform the update using a Windows 11 ISO that you already have or if you want to download it, so select the option that most interests you. After that, the application will tell us if we want to perform an update keeping files and data, if we want to upgrade to Windows 11 keeping only data (but not installed programs), or if we want to perform a clean installation (in which EVERYTHING you have On the disk).

windows 11 upgrade

After selecting the desired option, click on “Install system” and simply follow the steps of the wizard that will guide you through the process. This system, as we told you before, is not official and therefore it is not devoid of possible problems, so it does not guarantee that you can install Windows 11 on a PC that is not compatible with hardware, although in many cases it is successful.
