A new milestone has just been marked on YouTube, Internet TV, and that is that the greatest exponent of the platform to date, PewDiePie, has given his position to MrBeastwhich is crowned as the youtuber with more subscribers in the world.
The milestone reportedly occurred on November 14. It was then that MrBeast’s account surpassed PewDiePie’s in number of subscribers, although the exact figures are not clear, since both channels had 111 million followers. MrBeast overtook PewDiePie, yes, but with such a large number of followers the margin can be reversed without problems.
And he can still do it, but at least now that first place is clearer. At the time of publishing this article, PewDiePie’s account maintains its 111 million plus followers, while that of MrBeast already scores more than 112 million subscribers on YouTube. Brutal numbers, in both cases, show the reach that the platform continues to enjoy.
All in all, the channel with the most YouTube subscribers is neither of the two, but T-Series, one dedicated to Bollywood news, the film industry and whose account boasts a whopping more than 229 million followers. A madness only within the reach of a subcontinent like the Indian. Perhaps the same would happen in China if there were more freedom there.
Despite this, T-Series is not considered the “king of YouTube”, as is the case with MrBeast or PewDiePie, because it is such a dedicated and localized channel, but also because it is a professional project, from a company media with history in the country. MrBeast and PewDiePie, on the other hand, are independent creatorsto the purest essence of YouTube.
Of course, both one and the other are channels with an international vocation, but in English… Or not at all. In fact, I was surprised to see that MrBeast not only offers Spanish subtitles for his videos, but even doubles them. This is without counting the multiple secondary channels around you, some also in Spanish.
What are the MrBeast videos about, you ask? The same as PewDiePie’s, but much more vast. In other words, nonsense on a loop… or light entertainment, interpret it as you prefer. As an example, the last one he published almost a week ago: a challenge whose title says it all: The last to remove their hand from the private jet keeps it. Literal.
