A few days ago, some Mac users reported online that after finishing a videoconference made with the popular application zoom, the microphone was still working. The error quickly spread across the internet like wildfire.

And their developers have also rushed to fix the error. They just released a new upgrade of your video conferencing application and now the microphone stops working after ending a connection. Problem solved.

Undoubtedly one of the most popular applications when it comes to connecting several people by video conference, it is certainly Zoom. And this week he has had a serious problem, which he has quickly corrected with a new update.

As we mentioned yesterday, a few days ago complaints were appearing on social networks from some Mac users who had detected that after finishing a video conference in Zoom, the microphone remained enabled, and the Mac continued «listening«.

Thanks to a new privacy feature introduced in macOS Monterey, the error could be detected. This feature displays an orange dot in the menu bar on Macs when an app is using the microphone. Thus, users could immediately notice that there was something strange in the Zoom application, seeing that said point stayed on after finishing a videoconference.

From the developer of Zoom, they have clarified that there was indeed a bug in their macOS app that could cause the orange microphone in use indicator to appear on even after leaving a connection. They assure that after the new update, said bug has been fixed.

A couple of days ago, I tried the application myself, and certainly, after finishing a video conference, the little orange dot that indicates that the microphone is activated, kept appearing. A while ago I updated Zoom to the new version 5.9.3 for macOS and the error has disappeared. You can download the latest version from the Zoom website.
