ZOTAC introduces the ZBOX Edge MI351, its first compact with Intel N

ZOTAC has introduced the ZBOX Edge MI351, an ultra-compact mini-PC that debuts the Alder Lake-N platform that Intel has developed for cheap and low-power desktops or laptops.

The ZBOX Edge MI351 is promoted as a computer of “essential performance for everyday computing at home, office or business”. Its low profile format in a square with thickness of only 28 mm And with VESA mounting, it allows enormous flexibility to place it anywhere on the desktop.

Despite its compact size, it is equipped with a good number of ports and connectivity options for connecting to the Internet and/or peripherals, wired or wireless. Thus, it is equipped with Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 802.11AX, and Bluetooth 5.2. It features USB 3.2, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.4 ports to connect multiple 4K displays simultaneously. Maintaining and upgrading this PC should be a breeze by removing a few screws.

Its hardware base is the one mentioned, the Alder Lake-N platform with the possibility of mounting Intel N100, N200 or Core i3-N305 processors with 8 cores / 8 threads and integrated Intel UHD graphics. The equipment has a special cooling design to increase airflow and an intelligent fan that adapts its speed to the internal temperature to adjust the noise emitted.

It is compatible with memories SO-DIMM DDR5-4800 up to 16 GB (perhaps the highest frequency we’ve seen in a mini-PC so far) and an M.2 NVMe PCIe x4/SATA (2242/2280) module for mounting solid-state drives.

With Windows 11 pre-installed, ZOTAC will sell the ZBOX Edge MI351 in various hardware configurations, including a Format barebones always interesting that allows the user to install their own RAM memory, storage device and use other alternative operating systems to Windows such as a GNU/Linux distribution perfectly supported by this platform. It is the most economical and with the lowest consumption from Intel and therefore ideal for this type of compact computer.
