On the occasion of the PlayStation Showcase 2021, Insomniac Games officially announced the arrival of Marvel’s Wolverine, a new game starring the most iconic X-Men of all time.

This is a title that is still in the early stages of development, but that hasn’t stopped Insomniac from showing fans a first teaser trailer and release a few more details about the game that looks like it will arrive exclusively on PS5:
During the making of Marvel’s Spider-Man, there were times when all of us, Insomniac, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel, were brainstorming to talk about the future after the web shooter. And even in those early discussions, Wolverine continually presented himself as the character we would really like to work on together. A couple of years pass and suddenly we are in front of Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel to formally present a game for PlayStation 5 starring the mutant with the claws of adamantium! (Since you just saw the announcement teaser, we can confirm that the presentation went quite well.)
So many on the Insomniac team are huge fans of this character and one of the key elements that led us to him is not surprisingly different from Spider-Man: they both feel deeply obliged to stand up for those who can’t. alone.
Marvel’s Wolverine is a game directed by Brian Horton (Creative Director) and Cameron Christian (Game Director), who recently led the creative efforts of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a game we’re extremely proud of here at Insomniac. As with all of our Spider-Man games, our goal is not only to respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also to seek opportunities to revamp him and make him truly reflect the spirit of Insomniac. While Marvel’s Wolverine is still in the early stages of development, from what I’ve seen of the emotional storytelling and cutting-edge gameplay, the team is already creating something truly special.
To be able to create a new and original universe with Spider-Man and now Wolverine is a huge honor for many of us at Insomniac Games.
