Honor has formalized the launch date and price of Honor Vs, the brand’s first folding smartphone in France.
Honor is preparing to market the Honor Vs on French soil from May 24, 2023. This is a great first for the Chinese brand, which had kept the first of its first folding smartphone, the Honor V, for customers in the Middle Kingdom. A year after the launch of this product, the former sub-brand of Huawei is coming to conquer the Old Continent with a dual-screen smartphone with a high-end design designed to compete head-to-head with Samsung and its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and others. Z-Flip 4.
The Honor Vs is a slimmer folding smartphone, 12.9mm thick when closed, but heavier (by just 4g, at 267g) than its direct Korean competitor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The comparisons don’t stop there. In terms of motorization, for example, the Chinese manufacturer’s device also enjoys the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform performance. Its slightly curved 6.45-inch screen in 21: 9 format reveals an almost square 7.9-inch screen (with a ratio of 10.3: 9 in reality), once unfolded.
The Honor Vs is the brand’s first folding smartphone marketed on French soil
In terms of photography, it has a triple rear camera system, featuring a 54MP IMX800 main lens, 50MP ultra-wide and macro main camera, and 8MP 3X optical zoom. Honor has a very good reputation when it comes to images, thanks to the Magic5 Pro in particular. We can therefore expect a high-flying photo part. The Honor Vs will be available in France from May 24, 2023 at a recommended price of €1,599 in one and only color, black with a 66W charger.
Honor will enter a market where the competition will be fierce. The Chinese company will not only have to convince people that its device is better than Samsung’s proposals, but also that of Google. The Mountain View company should present the Pixel Fold, its own vision of the folding smartphone from June.
