On his blog, the author announces the end of the filming of House of The Dragon. He announces that she should not land in the spring.
Despite the end of the original series, we are far from done with Game Of Thrones. Almost three years after this end clap, HBO is developing a spin-off, the first of a long list of spin-off productions that are due to land over the next few years. baptized House of the Dragon it will immerse us 300 years before the adventures of Jon Snow and the entire Stark family.
Contrary to Game Of Thronesit is not really an adaptation but a rereading of the story presented in Fire & Blood. A kind of historical manual, Fire and Blood traces the entire evolution of the Targaryen family, from the conquest of Aegon to the last king of the Aerys II dynasty. Here the plot focuses on King Viserys. His death will trigger a vast civil war called The Dance of the Dragons.
Exit Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, the stars of this new series will be Olivia Cooke and Matt Smith. The two actors will play Alicent Hightower and Daemon Targaryen respectively. Paddy Considine (The Outsider) will camp the good and warm Viserys. Emma D’Arcy (hana) is also announced in the skin of Rhaenyra Targaryen.
Filming is over
It was on his blog that George RR Martin announced the good news. The author, rather active on the net, announces that the filming ended last week in London. The ten episodes are in the box, and the writer was able to discover some of them exclusively. As you might expect, he loved: “I’ve seen an early version of a few and love them. Of course, there is still a lot of work: special effects, color grading, original music, well all the post-production, but on the writing and directing side, it’s superb”.
Not in the spring
HBO is not going to honor tradition. House of the Dragon should not land next spring on our screens, as was generally the case with the original series. Besides, George RR Martin does not say much more about this release date. “This spring ? Unlikely. Maybe this summer? It’s possible. Autumn ? Who knows ?”
We will have to arm ourselves with a little patience, before discovering House of the Dragon on HBO in the United States. In France, it is still OCS which obtains exclusivity, despite the imminent end of the contract which links the two companies.
Note also that HBO Max is currently working on several other spin-off series. Among the most advanced projects, we find among others sea-snake. Created by Bruno Heller, the production will follow Lord Corlys Velario, a powerful lord of the Velaryon House of Lamarck, adventurer and politician who has embarked on a journey through the realm of Westeros. An animated series is also on the program.
