Bing will be the default engine for Firefox
We assume that all browsers include a default search engine. Thus, the different developers of these programsas Mozilla, are associated with these engines. In exchange for this privileged place in the program as such, the search engines pay the developers of these. For example, right now Mozilla makes millions from its deal with Google.
But, from what we know now, this is an agreement that ends this year in 2023. At first, everything indicated that this was an agreement that was going to be renewed, but positions are moving away. And it is that now thanks to a new project called bingchat of Microsoft, and other improvements, the software giant and Mozilla are close to reaching an agreement. Basically this would mean that the next versions of the Firefox browser would make the Microsoft engine available to us by default.
Thus, Microsoft plans to bid to make Bing the default search engine for the Firefox web browser. Details are unknown at the moment, but the move could give Bing a significant boost and take points away from Google leadership. And we must take into account that most browsers do not make it easy for us to change the default search engine. Hence, many users do not try or give up in the process.
At the same time, some rumors indicate that Microsoft could also bid against Google to make Bing the default search engine in the Apple ecosystem. We will wait and see what happens, but there is no doubt that the software giant is betting on Bing more than ever.
