Dune: GF9 announces a new version of the board game

Gale Force Nine announced a new version, coming after the summer, of his Dune board game, a 2019 re-edition after almost forty years of the classic by Avalon Hill.

But, what’s it about? Let’s go and see what at first glance looks like a simple reskin, but which actually hides much more.

The new version of Dune from Gale Force Nine

Dune, A Game of Conquest and Diplomacy is based on the ideas and mechanics of the classic title by Bill Eberle, Jack Kittredge and Peter Olotka, and the same authors are the ones who also made this new version. The title has been redesigned to support up to 4 players, also having a specific two-player mode; moreover, the duration of the game goes from 2/3 hours to about an hour. But, at least according to the publishing house, this title will re-propose all the tension and the thematic nature of the previous board game.

It is therefore not a simple edition to incorporate the graphic sector of the next Villeneuve film, but a real stand alone title, which will be able to make a fine show of itself in the libraries of fans next to the previous Dune.

According to the Gale Force Nine publishing house, the title should be available in September.
