Windows updates to fix problems
we are used to seeing patches and updates of Windows. Sometimes they are used to solve security flaws that can be exploited by attackers to steal data or compromise operation. Other times it’s updates to improve performance and make it work better.
In this case we are facing the latter scenario. These are optional Windows updates. From Microsoft they have released a total of three updates cumulative for this month and serve to correct different errors. Affects Windows 11, with update KB5014668; Windows 10, with update KB5014669; and also for Windows Server, with KB5014665.
But what makes these updates more interesting compared to other regular ones? In this case correct problems that appeared after the June 2022 security updates. Many users started having problems with Wi-Fi or VPN use.
Now these errors have been resolved with the updates that Windows has released. If you’re one of the users affected by connecting to a Wi-Fi host device or using a VPN, these new updates should prevent the issue.
These fixes are available to users running the latest versions of Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server. If you have other previous versions, such as Windows 8.1, you will have to wait for a while until the problem is corrected.
Having the latest versions is important
Count on the latest updates it is important in order to improve security and also performance. However, as you have seen in this case of Windows, sometimes a new version can cause certain problems. Even if they are corrected later, there may be a time when something does not work correctly. For example, a failure is not having Internet after updating Windows.
Even so, our advice is to always have the latest versions installed. It does not matter if it is the operating system, such as Windows, or any programs or drivers that you have installed. Is essential have all the updates that are coming out and thus avoid many problems.
Hackers can launch attacks that specifically take advantage of a vulnerability in the system. For example, they could sneak in a Trojan and control the computer, take advantage of a failure to enter a network, etc. What security patches do is correct that gap and make it impossible to exploit it.
But it is also good to have the updates installed in order to achieve better performance. You can have higher Internet speed if you update the firmware of the router, have more fluidity with the browser if you install the latest version, etc. It always comes in handy to get certain improvements.
