27-inch iMac with mini-LED display goes into production

iMac 27

It is clear that the current 27-inch iMac that Apple sells has its days numbered. It is the last bastion of Intel in the Macs catalog that Apple currently offers, and logically it will be replaced shortly by a new Apple Silicon version.

A new rumor indicates that this launch will be shortly. It has been confirmed that several component suppliers of said new iMac have already started supplying their manufactured parts for final assembly. Production is underway.

DigiTimes just released a report explaining that several Apple component vendors have already started send your finished products to the assembly plants to be able to assemble the new 27-inch iMac with M1 processors.

In this report it is explained that shipments have already begun in small quantities, of the components necessary to assemble the new 27-inch iMac, for its corresponding total assembly. An obvious sign that will be released in a short time.

Most likely, said new 27-inch iMac will be launched in the spring of 2022. According to rumors that have been appearing, it will mount a screen with mini-LED panel, which will have a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz.

With a design similar to the 24-inch iMac

Various sources also suggest that it will have an external appearance very similar to the new 24-inch iMac. Most likely, you also mount the processors M1 Pro and M1 Max How good are they doing on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.

Although personally, I believe that such processors are designed to work with a very high efficiency, necessary in notebooks that are powered by batteries, and where low consumption is essential. In an iMac it is not necessary for the processor to be so “efficient”, and another type of M1 could be designed where processing power prevails over efficiency. We will see if Apple surprises us, or saves it for the future iMac Pro.
