Meta will sign 2,000 people in Spain and will open its first Meta Lab in Madrid

These plans include, in addition to the construction of the aforementioned data center and the hiring of two thousand people, the establishment of its first Meta Lab in Spain. Specifically, in Madrid.

The Meta Lab will be the base of operations for Meta’s remote workers in Spain, although it will also offer space to local entrepreneurs related to the technology sector, as well as small startups. In addition, the company is going to double its office space in Madrid. But also, thanks to a collaboration with Telefónica, it will open a metaverse innovation center in Madridfocused on accelerating the metaverse network and preparing devices for it.

But Meta’s plans for Spain do not stop here, as they are also related to improving the country’s connectivity infrastructure. Thus, they have confirmed that the first transatlantic submarine cablehalf a petabit, and the so-called 2Africa, will make landfall in Spain and will thus connect the country with the other side of the Atlantic and Africa, as well as with various points in Europe.
